Ankur

Project Ankur is a THSN initiative and primarily focuses on parentability, school readiness, infrastructure development, and the physical, social, cognitive and emotional development of children aged between 0-6 years. It is being implemented in 17 Anganwadi’s of Panvel & Karjat regions in Maharashtra and is currently impacting around 2000+ beneficiaries. Some notable improvements include.

Room to Read

To inculcate the habit of reading in the upcoming generation, the project ‘School Library’ is being implemented in collaboration with ‘Room to Read.’ It focuses on having library facilities in schools, providing easy access to children’s books, creating a child-friendly environment in schools, and conducting regular training for teachers. The project benefits around 3600+ students studying in 12 schools of Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Stem

STEM is being implemented in collaboration with United Way Mumbai with an aim to equip 12 schools in Thane & Panvel with necessary infrastructure, training, and resources for STEM education, to encourage scientific thought and learning amongst children, and to create an enabling environment for education in schools and communities. It has impacted 6000+ students.

Covid Ward at Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity Hospital

 FGII in collaboration with Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity Hospital implemented a project specifically focusing on setting up a Covid-19 ward for mothers and their new-borns by providing medical equipment/accessories like X-ray machine, ECG machine, warmers, syringe pumps and infusion pumps for the treatment of the patients and to ensure necessary care, support and delivery of quality health care services to all mothers and children. The project impacted 7500+ beneficiaries admitted in the Covid-19 ward.

Project Sanitation

The project is being implemented in collaboration with United Way Mumbai and focuses on maintaining hygiene in 8 schools of Panvel post-Covid-19 by establishing sanitation facilities by repairing and renovating the toilets. The project also aims at providing hand wash stations and installing soap and foot-operated sanitizer dispensers in the schools. The project will impact 2000+ beneficiaries.
