Mumbai, 19 April 2010: Shreeraj Deshpande has been appointed as Head – Health Insurance, Future Generali India Insurance Co Ltd w.e.f. March 2010. This is a new position that has been created within the organization to strengthen and add further impetus to their health insurance business. He will work closely with K.G. Krishnamoorthy Rao, MD & CEO, Future Generali India Insurance Co Ltd.
Shreeraj’s key role and responsibility in the company will be to increase Future Generali’s presence in the health insurance space, focussing on the retail market. He will also concentrate on growing Future Generali’s corporate health portfolio by providing tailor made solutions. He would be responsible for developing a superior service platform for the Health insurance customers of Future Generali.

Krishnamoorthy Rao, MD & CEO, Future Generali India Insurance Company Ltd., himself a long-standing industry veteran, said, “Shreeraj brings with him over 21 years of experience, working in the insurance sector and specifically in the health category. Starting his insurance career with The New India Assurance Company, Shreeraj shifted to the private sector after 14 years of experience in the public sector. Shreeraj joins Future Generali from Bajaj Allianz where he was Vice-President / Head – Health Insurance from 2004 to March 2010. He was responsible for setting up the in-house team for servicing both the domestic health as well as the overseas health policies. He has also been a member of various committees instituted by IRDA/FICCI/CII in the field of health insurance.
Shreeraj has two years of Research Experience and a PhD from the University of Pune. The National Insurance Academy awarded him with the CD Deshmukh Research Award for his Ph.D thesis on Health Insurance.
