Future Generali India Insurance presented “Bhuler Mashul” (Galti ka Ehsaas) - street play to demonstrate importance and need of insurance
Conducted by the ‘Shilpo Tirtho’ group with over 16 shows in total, across the blocks of Sadar, Mohanpur, Agartala and Jirania
Future Generali India Insurance, a joint venture between Future Group and Generali Insurance, in line with IRDAI’s plan to bring about complete Insurance literacy in the state of Tripura, presented ‘Bhuler Mashul’ (Galti ka Ehsaas), a street play to demonstrate the importance and need of insurance. It was conducted from January 23-26 across the blocks of Sadar, Mohanpur, Agartala and Jirania (in West Tripura District) by the ‘Shilpo Tirtho’ group with over 16 shows in total.
Commenting on the initiative, Easwara Narayanan, Chief Operating Officer, Future Generali India Insurance Company Limited said, “These plays are targeted towards youth, children and elderly with a view to stir up emotions, create awareness and lead the way towards positive approach in imbibing insurance knowledge. The play was based on educating the people on the need and importance of Health, Personal Accident and Motor insurance and also shared some Road Safety Tips.”
In recent years, street theatre has picked up pace and has acquired an image of a more moral nature with just the right kind of fun. The catchy phrases and songs, crisp script, humour and loudness helped in making a long lasting and powerful effect on viewers. The lack of a formal atmosphere added to its appeal and gave it a real-life feel. It not only enlightened the people in West Tripura but also gave the citizens a platform to voice their opinion/raise questions related to insurance.
“Better known as ‘nukkad-natak’ today, it is perhaps the best way to connect with the common man and the youth. “Bhuler Mashul” was an intimate, brief, direct play which addressed the message head-on with the help of drama.”, Narayanan added.
