Future Generali India Insurance presented “Pathikbar 2k17” (It’s all about common people) – An insurance awareness activity to demonstrate need of insurance awareness and insurance penetration
A week long programme was organised from February 22 – March 01, 2017 at Agartala, Tripura across shopping malls, colleges and church
Future Generali India Insurance Company Limited (FGII), a joint venture between Future Group - the game changers in Retail Trade in India and Generali – a 186 years old global insurance group, presented a series of insurance awareness activities under the aegis of a programme titled ‘Pathikbar 2k17’ (It’s all about common people). The activities were organised to demonstrate the need of insurance, attuned to IRDAI’s objective to bring about complete Insurance literacy in the state of Tripura. These were conducted, in association with EESHA – a social welfare society, between February 22 to March 1, 2017, across five major locations in the city covering shopping malls, colleges, church and other public spaces.
The activities witnessed encouraging participation from people and acted as a medium to spread insurance awareness and educate the people of Tripura about health insurance, road safety, motor insurance, etc. Commenting on the initiative, K.G. Krishnamoorthy Rao, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Future Generali India Insurance Company Limited said, “These activities are targeted towards youth, children and elderly with a view to stir up emotions, create awareness and lead the way towards positive approach in imbibing insurance knowledge. Insurance awareness is the need of the hour today as lack of awareness can become an obstacle in insurance penetration. “Pathikbar 2k17” is an endeavor from our end to educate people on the different type of insurance policies available in the market so that they are financially protected during an event of crisis.”
Among many activities scheduled under this programme, a health-camp cum awareness on health insurance was organised for the church goers in one of the oldest churches at Mariyam Nagar in Agartala. Also two of the major colleges (Bir Bikram and Holy Cross College) hosted FUGEN essay-writing competition and a sit and draw competition, on the side-lines of which, awareness drive on Health Insurance and Road Safety was carried out for the children as well as their parents.
The programme will be concluded through a cultural event on March 12, 2017 at 4 PM at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan Hall, Indranagar, Agartala. The honourable Governor of Tripura, Tathagata Roy, is expected to attend the cultural programme. The winners of the essay and drawing competition will also be announced and felicitated during this event.
